“We want to make your property beautiful this year, but we also want your children and their children to continue to enjoy the beauty that this amazing planet has to offer.”

Zero Emissions

As lawn care professionals and neighbors, we are focused on making sound decisions that positively impact our clients, communities, and everyone who works with us. The climate is rapidly changing on a global scale. Pragmatically we realize that our companies’ actions may not change the world, but we cannot turn a blind eye to the realities that face us. We feel a responsibility to do what we can when we can. With this in mind, we are implementing a three-year policy that will move us into a full service commercial and residential lawn care company using solely electric battery powered equipment by the lawn care season of 2025.

This will be zero emission lawn care, and if there are electric battery powered trucks available that will handle the demands of our work, then we will add them to our equipment line as well. This is not an easy commitment to make, especially because we work on large scale properties where the zero turn mowers must run most of the day. This type of heavy-duty commercial use taxes the current technologies available and presents many challenges. But we believe it is an essential decision to make and the benefits are innumerable. A few are listed below:
  • Commercial gas-powered mowers run at around 100 decibels. The average electric powered mower runs at an average of 50-70 decibels. A conversation between 2 people is around 50 decibels. This much lower noise level benefits neighborhoods, commercial hotels, senior living centers, hospitals, pets, and people who run the equipment daily.
  • Commercial gas powered mowers, trimmers, and blowers all release harmful emissions that result in air pollution. This air pollution can create ground level ozone and negatively affect those with respiratory ailments such as asthma.
  • The use of oil and gas contributes to a dependence on fossil fuels. The EPA has estimated that each year approximately 17 million gallons of gas are spilled onto the ground in the United States alone due to spills and leakage from mowers and trimmers. This can migrate through the ground and make its way to water supplies.
  • With solar power generation, the electric needed to charge the batteries when not in use can be supplemented off grid.
  • Battery powered equipment is cool.
